When I asked an associate if she could recommend an Emcee for our SUPER - short comedy film Red Carpet Film Premiere, she was quick to fire Bec Dent's name back at me with no hesitation. As a total newbie at putting on an event of this size, I took the solid advice of my trusted advisor and jumped straight on it. I first met with Bec over zoom to discuss the event, I was not only quickly impressed by her enthusiasm but immediately felt that I was in safe hands with her obvious ease and insight into emcee-ing. But what I didn't anticipate was just how bloody amazingly this woman was going to deliver. Bec went above and beyond, taking to the stage earlier than I expected, wowing the crowd before they even sat in their seats. It was a night of comedy films and Bec not only matched the hilarity but took the whole vibe to the next level. I was blown away by the evening, I'm still pinching myself. I have no doubt in my mind this was 100% a result of Bec's ability to foster an atmosphere that engaged the audience, in an authentic and flawless way. I have had several legitimate emails and text messages from audience members who specifically noted Bec's performance, one of which asked if they could grab her contact details so they may ask where she did her training; because he wants what she's got. Of course I passed on her details. But I wonder, is it something you can train? Something you learn? Or maybe she was born with it? I'm not certain but I can tell you one thing - Bec is my forever Emcee and now also a wonderful dear friend.
